Abstract
Global changes after World War II, and the advent of destructive works a development have been stated sustainability matters in order to maintain comprehensive moderation and realization of the basis expansion of its temperate and balanced; However, generalization of this basis development on various fields such as architecture has been caused appearance subjects that related to sustainable architecture, which is based on designing according to life cycle and economy in the use of nonrenewable energy resources and also regarding to climate issues and valuable potentials of nature, for optimal use of energy and finally it is attaining to sustainable architecture.
The study of Iranian Traditional Architecture also indicates that architects could respond for climate needs of each area by considering aesthetic principles and emphatic stress on environment.
The extent of cold climate in our country, regarding to designing buildings and fabric cities with cold and dry climate which are considered the major consumers of fossil energies, it seems necessary.
The purpose of this research, is to study indicators of sustainable architecture the historic houses in Tabriz with emphasis on Quajar ‘s era houses, so that by recognition of sustainability principles on Vernacular Architecture and their adaptation by modern concepts of sustainability, can be achieve to providing solutions and functional patterns for designing climate in the area with the goal of economy in the use of energy and reducing air pollution .
