[English]

Statement of the problem: Nowadays, due to excessive energy consumption, especially in work environments and educational spaces, it is inevitable to consider solutions to reduce energy consumption in buildings. In order to provide adequate daylight and pay attention to its effects on internal thermal comfort, learner health, and learning quality, this study intends to consider a desirable design of external shades in the educational building under study in a way that can achieve efficient energy efficiency and also receive optimal daylight.

Research Method: In order to accurately evaluate issues related to daylight and energy consumption, the aforementioned building was modeled in Rhino software and then, using Grasshopper software and its add-ons (Ladybug, Honeybee, and Radiance) and through the Energy Plus evaluation engine, various daylight and energy analyses were performed on it. The optimization goals of the analytical model include reducing the electrical energy consumption affected by daylight (Lighting), maximizing UDI by optimizing the form and geometry of the canopy, and improving other daylight indicators. In order to measure more accurately, the analyses were performed on the first days of each season of the year (summer solstice/winter solstice/equinoxes (spring and autumn)).

Conclusion: In the studies conducted, it was found that horizontal awnings with a depth of 50 cm had the highest efficiency in the indicators of daylight adequacy (sDA), useful daylight illumination (UDI), and percentage of daylight glare (DGP). While integrated awnings achieved better performance in the ASE indicator than the other two awning models.
